Our History

I know what you want to ask. Is it actual rain? Or do I get it out of the tap like some sort of shameless huckster? Well, it is real rain which literally falls out of the sky. I simply collect it in the industrial East End of London and put into charming little bottles for people to treasure forever.

The Beginning

Some people can’t believe I sell rain. Including me!

It started like this.

Years ago, I had a job handing out leaflets on the streets of London, in the pouring rain. I sometimes apologised to tourists for the terribly wet weather!

One time a lovely American tourist replied and said, “Don’t worry, it’s what Britain is famous for!”

So that got me thinking. Britain is famous for it’s rain! But you can’t take it home with you like you can chocolates from Belgium or wine from France. I searched it up and realised no one had done it before.

So, just to be ‘the first’ I bottled it and took it to tourists shops in Central London to stock. I did NOT expect to sell any. But a week later the tourist shops phoned me to say they had run out!

And it snowballed from there.

Some people think it is a crazy idea. (Me too sometimes.) But Britain is famous for it’s rain and now you can take a little bottle of it to keep forever.

Shop? Want to stock British Rain?

At one point I was selling a hundred bottles a week at fancy tourist shop We Built This City on trendy Carnaby Street. But sadly that shop closed during the pandemic.

So, if you own a souvenir shop or novelty shop and want to stock British Rain, we be delighted to supply you!
